Roofing

To live in comfort, everyone wants to be happy, and happiness of the human, consists of and is our comfort everyday, our physical condition, our daily routine, and things which make us happy.

A long time ago, we had proof that hygiene makes our health and mood better, and at the same time, if you look after things, they can last a much longer period, than you expect or think.

We all look after our money, and try to spend money on our things, but leave to the end our house.   We start to think of fixing things in our house, only when it breaks, for example a leaking tap, pipes leaking.   Only then do we say, Oh we need to call a plumber.

All of this always happens when its least convenient when we are on our way to work, or planning to go out with friends.

We need thinking to predict these situations for us, and look ahead.  A householder needs to be organised to avoid bad surprises.

Some of my friends and people already ask me to clean the roofs of their houses, and were very happy with it.   Their neighbours noticed and also asked me to do theirs.   Some people think that it is wasting money, to clean roof or walls, but if we sometimes think we can save money, we end up paying double, so saving can be a false economy.

What benefit is when you clean roof and around your house?

When I clean roof with water, I look after each individual tile on the roof, because my foot steps on the roof, and I am looking carefully as I walk.  Some tiles are not very strong and need to be fixed, due to building issues, or over time, tile condition deteriorates, due to wind, sun rain cause wear and tear.

Sometimes in Spring or Winter, tiles can come loose and fly off, destroying your car, or neighbours windows.   What my roofing work does:-

• Clean tiles from dirt, remove moss and fungal growth.
• Remove debris that has accumulated, grass, twigs etc

All this dirt damages the condition of the roof and reduces the useable life of the roof.

After I clean a roof, you will notice less dust, as some of this otherwise blows into your rooms.

Around the house, when you come out, and want to hang your washing, you will notice the slabs around your house will have less debris, as a lot comes from your roof and is blown down by the wind.  It means that everything around the house, our kitchen garden, our grass, our flowers, our lawn, everything gets dirty because of dirt on your roof.

After cleaning your roof, you house will look more attractive, like a newly built house!  Because everything we repair looks like new again!

Also there is the additional benefit of a cleaner house and windows.

We notice in spring, when everything starts to grow we notice some parts around the roof, like the gutter gets blocked and grass and other things grow in there where they don’t belong.  After cleaning your roof, after rain the soil flows down, everything collects up in your gutters.

Corners of the roof, we can keep for longer clean, and you’ll not need to think about this again for another years.

Firstly when I come to client, find me through my website, or from the advert on the side of my van, or through personal recommendations.

We agree with the client the day and the time when I will come and discuss the work required, I don’t charge to come out and quote for the work and give advice on what the best approach is.   Roofing is dangerous and I need to identify where I can attach my safety harness and to ensure I can undertake the task in a safe manner.

Then we discuss where is better to cover the places where the dirt will fall.

If you have a beautiful garden with flowers and plants, I will cover them to protect them from any . damage.  If you have pots and garden furniture, if they are moveable, I will move them to a safer distance.

At the end of the work, I open all the covers myself, and put everything back where it came from.

When I know the place I secure myself, and find the place where I can put the ladder to reach the top of the roof.  I start to look for all defects in outside of the house, so I can advise you what future works.

I am planning my work, how better to leave less mess to clean after the work.  Also planning to do efficiently so I get the best quality work done in the time available.

When I plan everything and discuss on the agreed day I come and start my work, usually it takes 2 or 3 days depending on the amount of work excluding the time to quote.

I start from the top of the roof cleaning properly, each tile, and try to not leave even one untouched, trying to clean everything properly.

After roof, I start to clean the walls of the house and everything at the bottom of the house and around the house, I tidy up.

If it takes more time I will come an extra day to finish.   I then will fix or spots or gaps that I noticed during the work.  For this I use a strong mixture of sand and cement, or filer depending on the type of the gaps.

Some pieces of tile are worn and not strong, in this case I will exchange these for new ones.

At the end your house will look like a nearly new and much improved.

If you have some guttering, after cleaning it and if you have wooden decorative front panels, then these need painting also.  I can paint all of these wooden areas at the same time.
